What Programs should I use to prepare my files?
You may use any of the following software: Adobe PageMaker 6.x - 7.x, Adobe Photoshop (6.x - CS), Adobe Illustrator (all versions incl. CS), Adobe InDesign CS or Microsoft Publisher. Alternatively you can also use files saved in these formats: TIFF, JPG, JPEG, EPS and/or PDF. All parts of the project should be sent, including a text file, the pictures, and fonts if you are using other than the standard fonts (ie. Arial, Times Roman, etc.). High resolution, print ready PDF files are also acceptable. Please be sure that your file has a full bleed and that all colors are in CMYK.
How should I scan my pictures?
Photographs and transparencies should be scanned to final size and position at 300-350 dpi (dots per inch). DO NOT re-image a low resolution scan or image to 350 dpi... IT WILL NOT WORK! Line art or gray-scale should be scanned to 800 dpi.
What file format should I use?
We prefer all pictures/images to be saved as uncompressed EPS, TIFF or JPG/JPEG format and in CMYK colors only. BMP or GIF are not acceptable for commercial printing. Alternatively you may also use hi-res (high resolution) print-ready PDF files as an option.
All print-ready items will have to be designed with a full bleed, at least 300 dpi and converted to CMYK (NOT RGB). Pictures may also be used as long as they are big enough however, images or pictures saved from a website will not work!
What should I submit to place my order?
- All fonts used in the document
- A print out in color of the actual item to be printed
- Separate tiffs or jpegs of each item in the printed product
- Your credit card information or a check with the order
